A little bit about
Ashley Pate Newkirk is the founder, owner, and creative force behind Ash Events, an award-winning wedding planning firm specializing in elevated celebrations throughout South Carolina and destinations around the world. Known for her thoughtful design, meticulous planning, and calm, client-first approach, Ashley has become one of the nations most sought-after wedding planners, creating experiences that feel as effortless as they are unforgettable.
Originally from Cheraw, South Carolina, Ashley has called the South Carolina coast home since her high school years. Her career in weddings began unexpectedly in 2015 when she stepped in to save a friend's wedding after the original planner failed to show. What started as an act of helping quickly became a calling, and she's spent the last decade turning once-in-a-lifetime moments into thoughtfully curated experiences for her couples.
After studying at the University of South Carolina, Ashley landed her dream role in the wedding industry through an internship that quickly grew into a full-time career. Since then, she's worked in nearly every corner of the event world—from planning and venue management to floral design, catering, and hospitality, giving her a unique understanding of how every detail comes together behind the scenes.
Today, Ashley has planned hundreds of weddings ranging from intimate coastal gatherings to multi-day destination celebrations. Her approach blends refined design with seamless logistics, allowing couples to be fully present while every detail is thoughtfully handled. Known for her calm presence, creative vision, and meticulous organization, she believes the best weddings are not only beautiful but deeply personal.
Outside of weddings, Ashley is a proud dog mom to six rescue pups and has a soft spot for incorporating your four-legged family members into wedding celebrations whenever possible. Having built strong relationships with many of the industry's most respected venues and vendors, she serves as both a trusted planner and an invaluable resource for couples throughout their planning journey.
