Wow, what a Wedding Season it has been – with 64 events in 2022 and over 6,500 guests served – you can say we had one amazing year.! We traveled all over from the Grand Strand to Portland, OR and as far south as Jamaica. What they say is true: Do what you love and you never work a day in your life! When we say love, we truly mean LOVE our job. Creating the special moments that will become favorite memories for each and every one of our couples is something we pride ourselves on. Ash Events would not be possible without every single one of our clients trusting us with their vision and dreams. We are truly thankful beyond measure.
What a better way to wrap up than with recapping our Top 10 Weddings of 2022! Every year, we take a poll of our staff and vote to choose our top 10 weddings of the season. Truly all of our weddings are SO SPECIAL and have a big spot in our hearts but these 10 were the Ash Events 2022 favorites. It was a VERY close call between many of our events , however after much debate we present to you our top 10 weddings of 2022!
If we ever have to describe southern beauty we will probably pull up wedding pictures from Spencer and Tom’s day at Caledonia for years to come. Think Grand- Millennial at its finest. Spencer & Tom’s wedding was nothing short of beautiful and Spencer’s reaction to seeing what we created together was just the icing on their Funfetti wedding cake.
The varying shades of dusty blues and bright whites tied together perfectly with natural textures like rattan and linen to create a curated and oh so chic look. RSG event Designs captured our classic vision perfectly in the brides Chinoiserie vases as well as with the lighting. Spencer wore a beautiful gown from Everthine Bridal while her wedding party wore mix and matched midi dresses from Reformation with a simple cognac leather sandal. We sure hope the trend of fun prints and midi dresses for Bridesmaids will come with us into 2023. Tom and his groomsmen wore navy blue suit jackets and khaki pants from Brooks Brothers.
Even with putting into effect a last minute rain plan option, our hearts were bursting with joy planning this wedding – it was stunning. With details like a personalized watercolor crest, blue Loeffler Randal Camellia Knotted Sandals, and a cigar bar featuring the bride’s father’s favorite smokes, this wedding featured the soul of this couple through and through. The night ended with Tru Sol’s Proud Mary and after keeping all the guests on the dancefloor to celebrate Mr. and Mrs. Tom Cook all night, we sent them off surrounded by their closest friends and family with Kristy Roderick and Four Pedal Films there to capture every amazing second!

Tyler and Onesimo are one of the couples you just instantly love!! Their outdoor ceremony in The Abernethy Center’s Veiled Garden ceremony was perfect in every way! Tyler and Onesimo had a thirteen person Wedding Party to stand by them on their best day if you include their fur baby, Porter, who ran down the aisle as their ring bearer! With a friend marrying them and some guests traveling from across the country, this ceremony felt so intimate, special and full of love.
The Grooms wore Indochino Velvet Tux Jackets while their Wedding Party wore mix and matched black attire in varying textures and style. All white florals and greenery arrangements and floating candles from Grand Avenue Florist exemplified the romantic nature of The Abernethy Center and created the perfect mood for Tyler and Onesimo to celebrate with their closest friends and family.
The party started when Tyler and Onesimo danced on a cloud and Paradox Productions opened the dance floor that stayed packed all night long! An added perk, Ashley & Kaitlyn got to travel to Portland and stayed with long time friend and one of our all time favorite photographers Corina Silva!

We loved being able to celebrate with Jazzmyn and Cody at Village House in Litchfield for their September Wedding straight out of our Boho dreams. We were lucky enough to have Stan Weddings along with us to capture each and every special moment throughout the day! Willow Event Designs created the most beautiful arrangements for them to fit their fall aesthetic.
The earth tone color palette compiled with the bold and robust blooms created the perfect mixture of modern and boho that fit their personalities to a T. A special highlight of the night was definitely Jazzmyn’s dance with her dad, a compilation of several different songs all brought to us by Eyecon Entertainment and a surprise appearance made by a money gun. The bride’s family owns Coccadotts in Myrtle Beach, and was actually able to make her wedding cake.
They created a three tier work of art with floral embellishments lining the exterior! A bride that can rock 3 outfit changes is definitely one we will never forget! She started her day off in the comfiest robes from Crimson and King while being pampered by Hair by Shelley and Beauty by Dee! She then changed into her wedding dress that was hand picked for her with the help of Alex from The Dressing Room. Lastly, she put on her disco dress and light up sneakers that truly was a show of personality and the energy level for the rest of the night.

When we think back to Chelsea and Allie’s Wedding Day we cannot think of any word other than FUN. Chelsea and Allison tied the knot on a Sunday at The Venue at White Oaks Farm in front of all their friends and loved ones. The best part, Chelsea and Allison’s best friend Kylie Moyer officiated the Wedding and it was the SWEETEST!! I don’t think we have ever heard so many laughs from all parties involved during a ceremony! They even had a guest appearance from their favorite bartender at their typical hang, Reds Ice House, bring them shots just like any given Sunday.

Their wedding party varied between full length black dresses from Revelry and sleek suits with black pants and tan jackets from Asos. Anita’s Party Planning heard their wishes for a reception with a black and neutrals as their color palette paired with dried florals and pampas grass. To say she gave our Brides exactly what they wanted would be an understatement. Anita delivered the boho dream of Chelsea and Allison’s wedding with her tabletop and personalized decor!
Chelsea and Allison’s boho dream didn’t stop at decor. Froth and Bubbles’s Bubble Camper was a highlight serving the best signature cocktails and favorites of the Brides and their friends. When it was
time to open the dance floor, Eyecon Entertainment gave Chelsea and
Allison the reception they’ve always wanted. A regular Friday night for Chelsea and Allison includes living room karaoke and their wedding was no exception.
The only time Allison relinquished the microphone was to crowd surf and this
can only be described as epic!! Their personality translated through every
part of their Sunday Wedding and we loved being a part of their special day!

If you’re dreaming of a wedding by the Ocean, Christie & James Wedding at the Pawleys Pelican Inn will be the perfect inspo for you. The mixture of rattan with the dried and pastel florals hand crafted by Willow Event Designs were perfect for their beach wedding. We are usually the first to run from a beach wedding, but there was something about Christie & James vibe and vision we could get out of our heads! On the week of the wedding there was a 96% chance of the R word we don’t say in the wedding industry. When presented with options for our R word plans , Christie assured us not to worry that her Grandmother in heaven would take care of it and that she did.
We did have a few showers early in the day but everything cleared up with plenty of time for guests to arrive. Guests were first welcomed by Palmetto Strings who set the mood for the ceremony. The Willow team constructed an asymmetrical arbor that was an absolute eye catcher. The couple was married by our grooms father, Jim. Christie wore a stunning gown from Made with Love Bridal that fit her like a glove! Our groom, James, hand picked his outfit from Jos’a’Bank. For the wedding party , Christie dressed her girls in a stunning mix matched look from Show me your Mumu. Going into cocktail hour the guests were greeted with specialty cocktails from Lemon or Lime Mobile Bar Co.
We added wallpaper to the front of the bars for a little extra flare. During the design process we chose neutral tones for their linens , chairs and dance floor. Mc Light and Sound illuminated the Pelican Inn with a mixture of cafe lighting & Rattan Chandeliers. This couple really wanted to cater their wedding to guests, ensuring they truly enjoyed the entire evening. What better way to do that than ice cream on the dance floor?
The Mr. Softee ice cream truck was the highlight of the reception and got everyone sugared up just in time for DJ Jeff Crane from Craze Crane to keep them dancing the night away celebrating Mr. & Mrs. Barber. Our tiktok Live this night was a HIT with our followers and with all guests. Our bride Christie is the owner of She Sells Sea Shells , and created custom hand painted Sea Shells for each of their guest to take as favors. Jessi Nichols Photography captured the day perfectly!

Some couples just speak our wedding love language and when Marisa and Colton told us their vision for a blue and white wedding on the bluff of Kimbels at Wachesaw, our eyes became hearts! For attire, Marisa wore a Lilian West gown from The Poinsette Bride. Colton and his groomsmen wore Navy suits from one of our favorite suit rental companies Generation Tux . Marisas wedding party wore long Dusty Blue dresses purchased from Azazie!
This wedding was dynamic with three different locations for ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and the reception. Their ceremony on the bluff featured ground florals from Royal Decor that lined the last row of seats and framed the scene so beautifully. The Wedding Party, Groom, and the Bride processed down the aisle to live string music played by a Dean’s Duet Trio and perfectly set the tone for the evening! . Cocktail Hour and the Reception Dinner were held inside Kimbels and the atmosphere was lively. We had stations for dinner but had full seating for guests which included specialty linens, chairs, flatware and blue goblets and plates from Eventworks, as well as the Aurora Ocean Napkins from Stradley Davidson.
Marisa and Colton opted for a head table for their wedding party which we fully set with chargers, plates and additional glassware. Following dinner, our Bride and Groom cut their cake from Flowerchild and then we moved guests outside to the part under the beautifully lit sailcloth tent. We repurposed Royal Decor’s ground florals on the stage, elevating the facade and entire setup from Event Works. We positioned cocktail tables around the dance floor featuring Stradley Davidson Aurora Ocean linens for conversation and restful moments! There are truly so many special moments to recall from Marisa and Colton’s big day but none more epic than Marisa joining her bandmates on stage during Tru Sol’s band break, one of them her brother, to play three songs and get cheered on for an encore!
They are professionals, don’t worry, but this was a special treat for Marisa to share with the guests at her wedding and her husband couldn’t have looked more proud of his wife if he tried! We didn’t let guests leave without a trip to the Little White Box to take a photo with props! One copy was a souvenir and the other went into a special guestbook for Marisa and Colton to look back on forever. There is even one of our entire vendor team with the Father of the Bride! One Life Photo & Thomas Runion Media were there to capture the day perfectly.

Presley & Austin’s Wedding at Heritage will be one of our favorites for years to come. Why? Easy enough, Presley was A VIBE. She was such a fun bride throughout the entire process and had a unique style and vision that really made her night stand out from so many others! Any chance to work with Magnolia Photography we know it is going to be a good day. If we were giving out an award for best dressed, Presley baby you would take the cake and then some. Presley started the day in matching pjs for her girls to get ready. If you have not had a chance to see Presely’s wedding dress, you are in for a treat. Her dress was designed by Charlotte Jones with Sew Biz, and it was truly one of a kind! We were OBSESSED!! The pearl overlay was an absolute showstopper. Presley ended up changing for the reception into a white jumpsuit with feathered wristlets. Which made it much easier for her to perform a cheerleading stunt and Proud Mary with Tru Sol!
Modern Southern Elegance is the best way to describe this October wedding. From the all black wedding party attire to the groom’s Brackish tie, to the modern twist on classic but elegant flowers, it was a beautiful day. Royal Decor knocked it out of the park. Our floral highlight was Presley’s maid of honors Baby’s breath BOA, it was such a BREATH ( hehe) of fresh air from the typical bouquets we usually see. Presley & Austin wanted to ensure the day involved the least amount of stress as possible, so they decided on a first touch followed by a first look. This turned into the most genuine moments of the day, the couple being able to hold hands and embrace one another while reading the words written to each other! Eager to see each other after that, Presley finally got to see her groom and show off her custom wedding dress! The couple were married at their church Belin in Murrells Inlet , SC. Guests then traveled to The Heritage Club in Pawleys Island for the Cocktail Hour & Reception. Presley & Austin included special entertainment throughout their wedding day such as a Live Painting from Nicole Schmitz Studio, a Saxophone player and a Cherry Red Chevy Belair for their getaway car. Don’t believe it was the best day ever? Take Presley’s word for it at the end of this video from our tiktok HERE.

Number three of our countdown is Marshall & Gill’s magical day at Pawleys Plantation. If you’re a lover of Blue and white or chinoiserie vases, THIS IS YOUR WEDDING. Marshall had four wishes, hot pink florals, chinoiserie vases, lots of lighting, and a fun reception. Our incredible vendor team for Marshall and Gill delivered that and so much more! We have done many weddings at Pawleys Plantation, and this was so fun because of the unique layout! They chose to have their ceremony in front of the clubhouse under hundreds of beautiful oak trees at sunset while an Emerald Empire Band string quartet played Hallelujah as family members and the wedding party walked out. Marshall processed to Bittersweet Symphony and we don’t think we have ever loved a moment more! To capture all the magical moments before the sun went down, Marshall and Gill did a First Look together and a First Look with their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Conroy with Brian Smith Photography there to capture every beautiful moment this couple shared on digital and film cameras!
We also did their Wedding Party photos so everyone could go straight into Cocktail Hour after the ceremony! Marshall’s Bridesmaids each chose a black gown from various designers they loved and carried petite bouquets from Willow Event Designs. Gill and his Groomsmen wore black tuxes with black bow ties. Gill stood out with his Brackish Bowtie with a pop of pink in it! Their ensemble looked amazing! Cocktail Hour gave our Bride and Groom time to mingle with their guests while Pawleys Plantation staff passed delicious hors d’oeuvres and an Emerald Empire Band trio provided delightful entertainment. As guests made their way into the Reception Tent, they were greeted by our champagne walls with fresh florals and prosecco, each with a hot pink personalized scroll from Etsy Shop – Blonde and Brindle to guide guests to their seat!
As guests entered the clear tent with a full dangle light canopy from MC Lighting and Sound, you could hear the ooos and ahhs as they took in the splendor! We welcomed our couple into the reception and after their first dance and parents dances, our Bride and Groom and their family and friends enjoyed dinner under a tent of lights on tables with the most incredible specialty linens from Stradley Davidson and Willow Event Design Florals which were placed in chinoiserie vases the bride and groom collected during their engagement! Marshall let us play when it came to linens and we brought in a few of our favorites from Stradley Davidson including , Spiers Ivory & Alice Cloud.
For their head table we draped it with a blush velvet from Eventworks. I’m not sure if we will ever get over this color palette and how well all the design elements chosen worked together. After dinner, Marshall changed out of her incredible Winnie Couture beaded wedding gown that deserves an entire blog post on its own into another Winnie Couture mini dress with a detachable train! Nothing kicks off a party like a dramatic dress change! The Emerald Empire Band played amazing tunes while guests danced under the magical lights. The couple is after my heart and ended the night with Mr Brightside by the Killers. After a night of pure joy, we sent our new Bride and Groom off in the most amazing way! They exited the front door of the clubhouse surrounded by their loved ones and got into a black 1988 Rolls Royce from Whip Dash Charleston as Cold Sparks from Eyecon Entertainment went off around them!

When we think of a romantic Low Country spring wedding with fun florals and incredible personalized details, Olivia and Dennis’s special day is what comes to mind! Olivia and Dennis got engaged while on their boat in the inlet and the planning began immediately for what would be the most special day of our 2022 year! From the very beginning, we worked closely with Olivia on every design detail with a huge focus on bold colors, fun textures, and including her beautiful custom watercolor crests and designs from Ellen Davis Creative throughout the entire process.
Olivia and her girls began their day at a close family friend’s inlet-front home as Beautifully Wed and friend, Kaileigh, made these girls wedding ready! Olivia’s drool-worthy getting ready robe from Lerose made her getting ready photos and champagne pop epic! Olivia’s Essense of Australia Gown from The Dressing Room in Pawleys Island was just as equally classic as it was stunning and the blue butterfly, a nod to her brother TC, in her hair made her Bridal look complete! Olivia’s Bridesmaids wore Revelry gowns in various shades of green and in varying shades of velvet and satin. This is one of our favorite Wedding Party looks ever!! Dennis and his groomsmen wore black tuxes from Generation Tux and Dennis wore a Brackish Bowtie, a nod to one of his favorite past times. Olivia and Dennis met at their Reception Space for their First Look, held in the backyard of Dennis’s family home in Murrells Inlet! Their First Look together and was so special and both Bride and Groom were stunning. Hank, their playful chocolate colored furbaby, joined them for portraits dressed in a tuxedo color pinned with his very own boutonniere! Talk about attention to detail! Prior to their ceremony, Olivia and Dennis did a First Look of the Reception Space and they saw their vision for their perfect wedding had become a reality!
Their Head Table is one for the books with deep green Fern velvet linens from BBJLatavola, tabletop items from Curated Events, and bright florals in elevated stands from Willow Event Designs! Guest Tables featured Panama Linens and Natural Xback Chairs from EventWorks with gorgeous centerpieces, a mix of low and lush arrangements and bud vase trios. The tent was the perfect setting for the party to come, with greenery clinging to each cafe light strand and a massive circle floral installation above the dancefloor, not a detail was missed. As our Bride and Groom left the Reception Space to go to the chapel *cue the song in your head* to say their “I Do’s”, you could feel the excitement and the wind begin to pick up! What started as a calm, perfect March day quickly turned into 20+ MPH windy afternoon! To say our vendors worked hard to preserve the perfectly set Cocktail and Reception Space would be a severe understatement! As a guest you wouldn’t know that the hour everyone was at Belin Church for the Ceremony, it was impossible to keep tables upright and florals from blowing over time and time again! Thankfully, things were put back together without a second to spare and guests arrived to a spectacular scene! They were greeted with a “margs and matrimony” wall which featured and Classic or Spicy “Hankito” Margaritas were had by all while our Wedding Party smiled for photos by Jodi Gray Photography and Light Cannon Films worked tirelessly to preserve every moment for our couple! As our Wedding Party boarded their Carolina Limo Trolley, Kaileigh quickly got to work taking our bride’s classic Hollywood Curl to a beautiful updo complete with blue butterflies while Olivia changed out of her Bella Belle Olivia Shoes into Betsy Johnson Floral Sneakers! As we transitioned guests to the back of the house for the Reception, we got our happy couple inside for their Grand Introduction and what a grand introduction it was! Their first dance to Neil Young’s Harvest Moon followed by touching speeches from Olivia’s MOH and dad showed love Olivia and Dennis have for each other and their group has for them!
Before dinner, our couple cut into their gorgeous three tier garden cake from Flowerchild surrounded by the most amazing blooms from Willow Event Designs. This cake was positioned on top of a round table with a Fern Green Velvet linen from BBJ La Tavola and was breathtaking from every angle! Liv and Dennis weren’t the first to bite into their cake though, a mini Hank enjoyed their Caramel Rum Cake!
To create a cocktail vibe and social atmosphere we provided limited seating for the 300 guests in attendance but ample cocktail and social tables for gathering. A large crescent bar was the focal point of the cocktail area with custom wallpaper featuring watercolor florals and the inlet in the background and dangle light clusters strung in the trees around, it was a spectacular scene! The catering and bar service from Inlet Affairs was top notch, per usual, and a full circle moment as Olivia was previously an event manager with this local company! Finesse Band brought the funk with a lively performance and to everyone’s surprise, Dennis tore up the electric guitar and had a full moment to shine! With a whole list of highlights from this day, we cannot forget that epic moment! We sent our Bride and Groom through a sparkler exit tunnel and onto their trolley for their afterparty at The Hotfish Club in Murrells Inlet! We absolutely loved every minute of planning and celebrating Olivia and Dennis’ most special day!

Thinking of McCall and Josh’s wedding, all we can come up with is GRAND!! Their Winter Wonderland Charleston Wedding at the William Aiken House was absolutely perfect. Caluna couples hold a special place in our heart as we spend so much time working with them throughout the process. In order to be a Caluna couple, you book with all three business which encompass Caluna, Magnolia Photography, Willow Event Designs and Ash Events. In addition to our regular package and services, we hold a design meeting all together to ensure that your wedding day is cohesive from start to finish. We were able to work first hand with McCall & her mom on selecting each component of the wedding day. McCall & Joshua started their Wedding Weekend with a Rehearsal Dinner at Church and Union, one of our favorites when taking a trip to the Holy City! Wedding Day began early with an incredible vendor load in and Lashes and Lace starting on our Bridal Party for beautiful hair and makeup while Joshua and his party were touched up by Buzzed and Clipped barber shop! Their winter inspired wedding was one we spent countless hours obsessing over and ensuring every detail was perfection!
Studio R Design executed our vision for winter inspired elements featuring the pattern from the specialty linens Conaghy Pine from Stradley Davidson as well as nods to their future last name “Berry” in their invitation suite, welcome sign, programs, and favor tags! Other personal details from Sip Sip Hooray included cocktail napkins, drink stirrers and koozies. Together, this vendor team made all the planning come together in the most magical way and become more than we could have hoped for was truly a dream. McCall looked like a celestial goddess in her custom sparkly gown from Anjolique Bridal and Formal with an incredible headpiece and earrings from Jennifer Behr! Her beautiful mother helped her get dressed while we positioned her Bridesmaids on the upstairs porch for a First Look with their girl! Each girl wore a different Revelry Gown and together were picture perfect. After a First Look with her dad, we had Josh ready for his First Look with McCall! What a special moment to witness for this sweet couple and Magnolia Photography and Four Pedal Films captured it all for this couple to remember forever. After the sentimental First Looks, we took our Bride and Groom down King Street to take photos by her dad’s vintage Chevy in front of The American Theatre. The Theatre’s marquee was personalized with their wedding quote, “Eat, Drink, and Be Berry!” Truly an epic moment. We tucked our sweet couple and wedding party before guests arrived! As they walked through the front gate on King Street, they were greeted by a champagne wall with fresh champagne, cranberries, and rosemary and walked through the gardens into the ceremony area.
A Charleston Entertainment Trio played beautiful songs as guests took their seats in pews from Snyder Events. The aisle was lined with flower petals and floating candles with cranberries and rosemary and the amazing Stable Doors were framed with an incredible floral installation by Willow Event Designs! A perfect setting. With a surprise twist of fate, with a 3 minute notice, our lead planner, Ashley, found herself officiating McCall and Josh’s ceremony – what a full circle moment! Haigan Gandy was there to paint every beautiful detail live on canvas our sweet couple will always cherish! Cocktail Half Hour was so fun, delicious hors d’oeuvres and Berry Margarita Signature Cocktails from Curated Events Green Charlie Bar. For dinner, guests enjoyed Low Country favorites like fried chicken and sweet collard greens, shrimp and grits, braised short ribs, and crab cakes at beautifully set tables with specialty linens from Stradley Davidson and Nuage Designs and tabletop designs from Curated Events! As dinner came to an end and guests transitioned into the clear Reception Tent, they were greeted with a party like no other thanks to Midnight City Band! Special design elements really elevated this space. Midnight City shared the stage with four beautifully lit Christmas trees and the guests danced under a canopy of lights from MC Lighting and Sound with a Christmas Tree floral installation by Willow Event Designs as the focal point. Lounge sets from Curated Designs brought several elements to the area, comfort and design! Each furniture piece had a colorful array of pillows, some with McCall and Josh’s monogram on them! Possibly the most amazing personalized detail was their gold vinyl crest in the center of the dance floor from Charleston Wraps!
It perfectly captured the GRAND vibe. As the night came to an end, we sent our Bride and Groom off through a tunnel of sparklers and captured a few more photos of our happy couple in their vintage Chevy! To say this wedding will always be special to us is an incredible understatement! We absolutely love McCall and Josh and every picture perfect moment from their Wedding Day! To see the photos from their day, you can see why our team voted this wedding Number One from our 2022 Wedding Season!
